The Institute offers four academic programs of four years' duration at the undergraduate level for the academic year 2026-27. These programs are Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Energy Engineering (EEN), Chemical Engineering (CHE) and Electrical Engineering (ELE).
Seat Allocation Round 1 for CAET 2026 Session 1 qualified candidates will commence on January 9, 2026. Candidates are requested to go through the Business Rules available here: Undergraduate Admissions, to learn more about the choices of academic programs, seat matrix, process of seat allocation and related information.
Number of Sessions CAET 2026 will be conducted in four sessions as follows. Session 1: November 23, 2025 (Completed) Session 2: February 08, 2026 (Ongoing) Session 3: April 19, 2026 Session 4: June 21, 2026 A candidate will get a maximum of two opportunities to appear in the CAET 2026 examination. A simple 4-step procedure
Candidates must fulfill all the criteria listed below to be eligible for CAET.
Must have a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent in AT LEAST TWO of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics; and a minimum of 80% aggregate marks or equivalent in the Grade 12 board examination.
A candidate should have appeared or should be appearing for the Class/Grade XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026. Candidates whose first appearance in Class/Grade XII examination was in 2024 or earlier years are NOT eligible. If a candidate has done n years of mandatory service as per the policy of the country of citizenship, n years of relaxation will be given to such candidates with the service supported by a valid certificate / documentation.
Candidates should have been born on or after 1st October 2001. Age relaxation for mandatory service is as per the policy of the country of citizenship of the candidate.
A candidate can apply for admission in a maximum of two academic years. In any given academic year, a candidate can appear for CAET a maximum of two times.
