Academic Programs

Undergraduate (UG) programs of Computer Science and Engineering, and Energy Engineering started in the academic year (A.Y.) 2024-25, while Chemical Engineering started in the A.Y. 2025-26. A few other UG disciplines are expected to begin in subsequent academic years.

CAET 2026

The admissions of all the candidates for the academic year 2026-27 will be through two modes:

  1. Only for the UAE Nationals, International Candidates & Indian Expatriates: Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2026.
    Session-1 of the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) 2026 will be held on November 23, 2025 at various centres in the UAE, New Delhi, Singapore, Malaysia & Nepal.
  2. For Indian Nationals:
    JEE (Advanced) 2026: The eligibility criteria and other details/requirements for JEE (Advanced) 2026 can be found at https://jeeadv.ac.in/index.html.

Number of Sessions
CAET 2026 will be conducted in four sessions as follows.
Session 1: November 23, 2025
Session 2: February 08, 2026
Session 3: April 19, 2026
Session 4: June 21, 2026

A candidate will get a maximum of two opportunities to appear in the CAET 2026 examination. If a candidate appears in two sessions, the better score out of the two will be considered for the final selection process to the IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi..

*If you have selected a centre in India, Kathmandu, Singapore, Malaysia, the corresponding Local Standard Time will be used. Note that 10:00 a.m. (GST) = 11.30 a.m. (IST)=11:45a.m. (NPT)=2:00p.m. (SGT)=2:00p.m. (MYT).



How to Apply

A simple 4-step procedure

+Step 1 : Review the Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill all the criteria listed below to be eligible for CAET.


Nationality

  1. UAE Nationals: Candidates who are citizens of the UAE and possess a proof of the same are defined as UAE Nationals.
  2. International Candidates:
    • Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) and NOT UAE nationals.
    • Candidates who are Overseas Citizen of India / Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) card holders.*
    *Candidates who have secured OCI/PIO card before 04.03.2021, can opt to appear in JEE (Main) and JEE(Advanced) as at par with Indian citizens. In case they do so, such candidates are not eligible for admission to IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus through CAET 2026.
  3. Indian Expatriates: Indian students (holding Indian Passports), who have been living outside India from last five years and have completed/will be completing their class VIII to XII standard of schooling from outside India.

Performance in Grade 12 (or equivalent)

Must have a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent in AT LEAST TWO of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics; and a minimum of 80% aggregate marks or equivalent in the Grade 12 board examination.


Grade 12 (Board Exam) appearing Year

A candidate should have appeared or should be appearing for the Class/Grade XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026. Candidates whose first appearance in Class/Grade XII examination was in 2024 or earlier years are NOT eligible.

If a candidate has done n years of mandatory service as per the policy of the country of citizenship, n years of relaxation will be given to such candidates with the service supported by a valid certificate / documentation.


Age / Date of birth:

Candidates should have been born on or after 1st October 2001. Age relaxation for mandatory service is as per the policy of the country of citizenship of the candidate.


Number of Attempts:

A candidate can apply for admission in a maximum of two academic years. In any given academic year, a candidate can appear for CAET a maximum of two times.


Prior Admission to IIT:
A candidate should NOT have been admitted to any IIT earlier, irrespective of whether the candidate continued in the program or accepted and then vacated an IIT seat.
