IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi (IITD-AD) offers globally benchmarked, full-time four-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) programs in STEM, designed to prepare students for a rapidly evolving world. CAET (Combined Admission Entrance Test) is the flagship entrance examination for admission to B. Tech. programs at IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi, designed to assess analytical and problem-solving skills in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
-When is CAET 2027 scheduled
Sessions
CAET 2027 will be conducted in four sessions as follows.
Session 1: November 22, 2026
Session 2: January 31, 2027
Session 3: April 18, 2027
Session 4: July 18, 2027
Note: In the event of disruption due to unforeseen circumstances, we may need to revise the dates and reschedule the CAET exams with notification updates for the same being shared on the CAET website as and when applicable.
A candidate will get a maximum of two opportunities to appear in the CAET 2027 examination. If a candidate appears in two sessions, the better normalized score out of the two will be considered for the final selection process to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi.
Registration can be completed for two consecutive sessions simultaneously. For example, during registration for Session 1, the candidate can also choose to register for Session 2. Similarly, when Session 2 is the upcoming Test Session, the candidate can then also register for Session 3.

+Who is eligible for CAET 2027
Candidates must fulfill all the criteria listed below to be eligible for CAET.
Nationality
UAE Nationals: Candidates who are citizens of the UAE and possess a proof of the same are defined as UAE Nationals.
International Candidates:
Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) and NOT UAE nationals.
Candidates who are Overseas Citizen of India / Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) card holders.*
*Candidates who have secured an OCI/PIO card before 04.03.2021, can opt to appear in JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) as at par with Indian citizens. In case they do so, such candidates are not eligible for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi campus through CAET 2027.
Indian Expatriates: Candidates holding Indian passports, who have been living outside India for the last five years and have completed/will be completing their grade 8-10 standard of schooling from outside India.
Indian Nationals: Candidates holding valid Indian passports, who do not belong to the category of Indian Expatriates as mentioned in the above section 3 are defined as Indian Nationals.
Performance in Grade 12 (or equivalent)
Must have a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent in AT LEAST TWO of the following subjects:
Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics; and a minimum of 80% aggregate marks or equivalent in the Grade 12 board examination.
Grade 12 (Board Exam) Appearing Year
A candidate should have appeared or should be appearing for the Class/Grade 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2026 or 2027. Candidates whose first appearance in Class/Grade 12 examination was in 2025 or earlier years are NOT eligible.
If a candidate has completed 'n' years of mandatory service as per the policy of their country of citizenship, a relaxation of 'n' years will be granted, provided the service is supported by a valid certificate.
Age / Date of Birth
Candidates should have been born on or after 1st October 2002. Age relaxation for mandatory service is as per the policy of the country of citizenship of the candidate.
Number of Attempts
A candidate can apply for admission in a maximum of two academic years. In any given academic year, a candidate can appear for CAET a maximum of two times.
Prior Admission to IIT
A candidate must not have been admitted to any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) previously, regardless of whether they continued in the program or accepted and subsequently vacated the seat. Note: Any change in Test Centers will be communicated prior to the sessions.
CAET is a written pen-and-paper based examination, and the candidate is required to visit the designated centers to write the exam on the chosen date.
