Biosketch

Subrata grew up in Bankura, West Bengal, India. He received his M.Sc. degree in 2010 from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) under the supervision of Prof. S. Nagendran and his Ph.D. degree in 2015 from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) under the guidance of Prof. V. Chandrasekhar and Prof. Sandeep Verma. He then joined Professor H. W. Roesky’s research group at the University of Göttingen as a postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on low-valent main-group chemistry. After spending three years in Germany, Subrata joined Prof. Ian Manners’s group at the University of Victoria, Canada, where he worked on inorganic polymers and catalysis involving main-group substrates. In December 2019, Subrata joined IIT Delhi as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in November 2024.
