Saurabh completed his five-year integrated M.Sc. in Photonics at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, India, followed by a Ph.D. in Biophotonics from ICFO, Barcelona. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at ENS, Paris, and the Peter Debye Institute of Soft Matter Physics, Leipzig. He joined IIT Delhi as an Assistant Professor in November 2020. His research focuses on developing innovative biophysical tools to investigate the mechanical and chemical properties of cells and biomolecules at the single-molecule level. At IIT Delhi, his group combines biochemical and biophysical approaches to understand the kinetics and mechanisms of helicases and other molecular motors. For this purpose, the group has developed magnetic tweezers to uncover how these molecular machines interact with and remodel nucleic acids.
