Prof. Sanjeev Sanghi is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). He earned his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, an M.S. from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. from the Levich Institute, City University of New York.

An acclaimed educator, Prof. Sanghi has received the Boliagno Distinguished Teaching Award at Cornell and multiple Excellence in Teaching Awards at IIT Delhi. His research spans turbulence modeling, computational fluid dynamics, chaos and low-dimensional modeling, and Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD). He has developed novel discretization schemes, efficient boundary conditions for open flows, and pioneered studies on turbulence suppression and heat transfer.

Prof. Sanghi has delivered invited lectures at more than 30 universities across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Australia. He has co-authored standard texts in mechanics and published extensively in leading journals and international conferences.

At IIT Delhi, he has held major leadership roles, including Dean of Alumni Affairs, where he spearheaded the creation of a USD 1 billion Global Alumni Endowment Fund. He also launched international collaborations such as a joint M.Tech. program with Addis Ababa University.

He is widely regarded as one of IIT Delhi’s most inspiring teachers, with his YouTube channel Sanghi-Labs-IITD providing free access to full lecture series in mechanics and fluid dynamics.
