In the academic year 2025-26, B.Tech programs were offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Energy Engineering. The same programs will also be available in the academic year 2026-2027. In addition, new programs may also be started.
Who can apply for undergraduate programs at IIT Delhi -Abu Dhabi?
Following Four broad categories of students can apply
The first three categories of applicants can apply through the CAET 2026, but the fourth category needs to apply through JEE (Advanced) 2026. See answer to question 3 below.
How can I apply to study at IIT Delhi -Abu Dhabi?
Your admission can be through Combined Entrance Admission Test (CAET) or JEE (advanced) depending on your citizenship and country of residence.
You must belong to any of the following three categories to appear CAET 2026 admission test and qualify for applying the seat allotment process.
Note that International students can also apply through JEE (Advanced) route.

I am an Indian citizen living abroad. How can I apply for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi?
If you hold an Indian passport, and have completed Grades 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 from schools abroad, and meet the other criteria as pointed out in FAQ 15, then you are eligible to apply through CAET 2026.
However, you can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2026 and apply through the JoSAA seat allocation portal for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi also.
I am Indian expatriate residing in UAE, I have studied in abroad some years but not 5 years, can I apply?
You cannot apply for CAET 2026 as it mandatorily requires 5 years of schooling (Grade 8-12) from abroad. Indian students interested in applying to IITD-AD need to qualify JEE (Advanced) 2026 and apply through the JoSAA portal for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi.

What is JEE Advanced 2026? Who can appear in it?
JEE Advanced 2026 stands for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2026. It is an entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) for admission to the 23 IITs in India.

What subjects do I need to prepare to appear in CAET 2026? What is the syllabus?
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the subjects tested in CAET 2026. Scoring in all three subjects are mandatory. The syllabus for the examination is available in this link.
Do I need to prepare all the subjects?
Yes, you need to prepare all the subjects well – in order to qualify for admission, you need to score a specified minimum marks in each subject.
Do I need to attempt all the sections of a subject?
In each subject part, there are three sections. Answering all the sections is not mandatory. However, it is mandatory to attempt all three subjects parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
When will CAET 2026 be held, and where?
CAET 2026 will be conducted in four sessions as follows.
A candidate will get a maximum of two opportunities to appear in the CAET 2026 examination. Examinations will be held in the UAE, in various other cities. Details will be available on the CAET website.
Is there an application fee for CAET 2026? Yes, All applicants except UAE nationals should pay 150 AED or 41 US$ + bank transaction charges + taxes (if any) as a registration fee (non-refundable) for each session of CAET 2026.
What are the eligibility criteria for appearing in CAET 2026?
Eligibility Criteria for appearing in CAET 2026 for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi are listed below in Table 1. A candidate has to satisfy criteria 1–4 to appear for any session of CAET 2026. The candidate must satisfy all criteria 1–6 listed in the table for admission to IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi.

Is EmSAT/SAT score is a mandatory requirement for applying?
No, it is not mandatory. Kindly follow the Eligibility criteria.
I am a UAE National male in Grade 12, and I have to serve in the National Service after high school. Will this affect my eligibility? The age limit to apply for CAET 2026 is 25 years, however, UAE nationals opting for National Service are provided an age relaxation for 2 years.
I hold a Kuwait passport, but I have an OCI/PIO card. What documents do I have to provide with the application?
Candidates whose nationality is other than UAE and India are considered as International students. Persons of Indian origin, who have secured OCI/PIO card subsequent to 04.03.2021 shall be considered as international students.
In case your OCI/PIO card is issued before 04.03.2021, you could choose to apply as International student or per Indian nationals. If you choose to be considered as per Indian nationals, you cannot appear through CAET, but can apply through JEE(Advanced) 2026.
International students need to provide National Identification Card number, and marks scored in Grades 11 and 12 (if available).
Indian expatriates, in addition to the above documents, need to upload score cards / mark sheets of Grades 8 – 12 done outside India to be eligible.
I have done five years of schooling intermittently outside India, but not class XI and/or class XII, which are done in India. Am I eligible for appearing CAET 2026? No, you cannot appear for CAET 2026. You need to complete Grades 8 to 12 outside India
How can I know my examination results?
After the finalisation of results, you can login into the application portal with your credentials and see your marks.
How do I apply once I qualify in a session of CAET?
You can login into the application portal with your credentials after the declaration of result of any session. If you qualify in the session, you can apply for admission to a program at IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi through the portal.
